Law Enforcement hours: 24 hours
Are you prepared to lead in the 21st Century? The demands of law enforcement are changing on a daily basis and the skills needed to effectively supervise law enforcement personnel are changing to meet the new challenges.
This course is specifically designed for law enforcement professionals who occupy mid-level and first line supervisory positions or who expect to occupy them in the future. It will review the basic skills needed for all supervisory levels and provides "hands-on" experience in sharpening those skills. This three-day course in the FLS Series defines law enforcement leadership, provides practical tips to effectively lead officers in today's environment and demonstrates goals and time management strategies to insure the leadership techniques are effective and timely.

Instructor: Chief Bobby Blankenship, (Retired)
Bobby recently retired from Alabama Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission as in investigator on March 1, 2023. He spent six (6) years as Chief of Police at Dothan Regional Airport Police Department and retired from Ozark Police Department after twenty-five (25) years at the rank of Captain of Special Operations. He is currently serving as a board member with ICJE and Alabama Police Trainers Association (APTA). He attended the FBI National Academy #249 and has been certified as an APOSTC instructor since 2004. He is an adjunct instructor for AUM and JSU. Throughout his career, Bobby has served on special weapons and tactics commander, regional disaster response team member, traffic homicide investigations commander, commercial vehicle enforcement commander, honor guard commander, training division commander along with numerous other duties.
Instructor: Lt. Scott Heath, (Retired)
Scott retired as a Lieutenant from the Dothan AL Police Department after serving for 30 years in a variety of positions including canine handler/trainer, motor officer/instructor, training division, bomb technician/bomb squad commander, EMA liaison, honor guard commander, APOSTC instructor, records division commander and various other positions. He worked for the Ozark Police Department for three years before moving to the Dothan Police Department. For the last two years, Scott has served as a police officer at the Dothan Regional Airport.
This is a 3-day class and you must attend all 3 days in order to receive a certificate. This APOST Certified (24hour) training seminar will begin at 8:00 a.m. each day (registration at 7:30 day 1), and will end at 5:00 p.m. This seminar is open to law enforcement officers only.

NO SHOW/CANCELLATION POLICY: Since we have VERY limited seating in classrooms with social distancing, NO SHOWS without notice effects people on class waitlists. We understand that in the law enforcement profession there are times that you cannot attend a class, but you can notify us by responding to the reminder emails that are sent out approximately one week prior to the class. We will begin tracking all no shows (people who do not attend class and don't notify us prior to the start of class).
