Are you prepared to lead in the 21st Century? The demands of law enforcement are changing on a daily basis and the skills needed to effectively supervise law enforcement personnel are changing to meet the new challenges.
This course is specifically designed for law enforcement professionals who occupy executive level and first line supervisory positions or who expect to occupy them in the future. It will review the basic skills needed for all supervisory levels and provides "hands-on" experience in sharpening those skills. This five-day course in the FLS Series defines law enforcement leadership, provides practical tips to effectively lead officers in today's environment and demonstrates goals and time management strategies to insure the leadership techniques are effective and timely.

Instructors: Robert Thetford (FBI Retired) has 25 years, Legal Counsel, FBI, attorney and former prosecutor; certified APOST instructor since 1984; author/co-author of five books and numerous articles.
Dr. Lou Harris (FBI retired) 25 years as federal investigator, relief supervisor and was assigned to the Yakima Indian reservation for 11 years. Retired Chair of the Criminal Justice Department, Faulkner University 1993 - 2017; certified APOST instructor since 1987.
This seminar is sponsored by AUM's Alabama Crime Prevention Clearinghouse & Training Institute, the Institute for Criminal Justice Education, Inc., the Alabama Peace Officers Association, U.S. Attorney's Office, MDA, and ADECA Law Enforcement Planning/Traffic Safety Division. This training is partially funded by an ADECA Law Enforcement Planning subgrant #19-DJ-ST-002 awarded to AUM and its Alabama Crime Prevention Clearinghouse.
This is a 5 day class and you must attend all 5 days. This APOST Certified (30hour) training seminar will begin at 9:00 a.m. each day (registration at 8:30 day 1), and will end at 4:00 p.m. This seminar is open to law enforcement officers only.
