LAW ENFORCEMENT ONLY

Description: This course will address policing during the current events and times. We will delve into policing during a pandemic and social media driven events pushing for hatred and violence towards law enforcement. We will address possible ways to counteract some of the tactics with community policing and changing our own narratives. Protesting versus rioting - is there a difference? Are we as a society biased towards others? Let's see if we can affect change within ourselves and others. Let's build our house of cards to withstand the weather of current events. This will be an interactive course that looks for input from all of us. Let's open our minds and our mouths to see a change.

Schedule: Registration check-in starts at 8:30 a.m. The training will meet from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. including a lunch break.

Center for Lifelong Learning 159-160

NO SHOW/CANCELLATION POLICY: Since we have VERY limited seating in classrooms with social distancing, NO SHOWS without notice effects people on class waitlists. We understand that in the law enforcement profession there are times that you cannot attend a class, but you can notify us by responding to the reminder emails that are sent out approximately one week prior to the class. We will begin tracking all no shows (people who do not attend class and don't notify us prior to the start of class). We are hoping this policy will cut down on people registering for numerous classes and not showing up for the those classes, which causes a 10-30% no show rate.
