LAW ENFORCEMENT ONLY

This class was formerly titled Criminal Behavior Assessment.

Description: Since the 1980s, law enforcement officers have been trained in techniques of profiling cases of personal violence. While it takes years of experience and study to master all of the profiling techniques, there are some basic concepts that can be quickly learned and applied with a surprising level of accuracy.

In this one-day class officers will be shown how to:
  • Identify some potential personality characteristics of the offender from the crime scene
  • Use the profiling process to investigating violent crimes
  • Select interview techniques for specific violent offenders
  • Conduct a psychological crime scene analysis
  • Prepare a criminal behavior assessment of selected violent crimes
  • Profile the victim/s

Schedule: Registration check-in starts at 8:30 a.m. The training will meet from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. including a lunch break.

Location: AUM Center for Lifelong Learning, 75 TechnaCenter Drive, Montgomery, AL 36117

Cost: FREE for law enforcement officers

NO SHOW/CANCELLATION POLICY: Since we have VERY limited seating in classrooms with social distancing, NO SHOWS without notice effects people on class waitlists. We understand that in the law enforcement profession there are times that you cannot attend a class, but you can notify us by responding to the reminder emails that are sent out approximately one week prior to the class. We will begin tracking all no shows (people who do not attend class and don't notify us prior to the start of class). We are hoping this policy will cut down on people registering for numerous classes and not showing up for the those classes, which causes a 10-30% no show rate.
