This session will provide a big-picture overview of Alabama history. Important new research over the last two generations has added richness and depth to the story most of us learned. As we commemorate the state's Bicentennial, this presentation will provide a chance to step back and think about how Alabama came to be what it is today. Dr. Bridges's 2016 book, Alabama: The Making of an American State, will be useful reading for this course.
Bring your lunch so we can eat together on a lunch break and make the most efficient use of the time.
